Spiritwood: A Nature Sanctuary for People and Wildlife, Nurtured by Caz & Mike
Our Journey: Rewilding, Permaculture, and Sustainable Beekeeping
Since 2006, Spiritwood has thrived as a mixed farm and forest, masterfully stewarded by Caz & Mike. We’ve been committed to transforming this land into a sanctuary not just for local Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire wildlife, but also for people. Our community has grown through rewilding initiatives, forest school activities, and gatherings focused on Permaculture and Regenerative Farming.
From the Hive to the Honey: Our Sustainable Beekeeping Mission
In 2014, our interests blossomed into sustainable beekeeping. We were captivated by the bees’ organizational prowess and the intense labor that goes into producing our high-quality, locally-produced Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire Honey. Fortunate to have an extraordinary mentor, we integrated beekeeping into our organic, local agriculture model.
Beekeeping: The Keystone of Spiritwood’s Regenerative Systems
Beekeeping is more than a sideline; it’s a central aspect of our land management and husbandry at Spiritwood. It influences our strategies for restoring hedgerows, establishing wildflower meadows, and planting native tree species specifically for pollinators. This, in turn, supports the production of our organic and locally produced Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire Honey.
